A leading media company employing more than 3000 people with operations throughout the UK operating in a rapidly changing mass market, B2C and B2B environment.
Following significant transformation, radical re-design of its sales organisation and expansion of its product portfolio the company needed to bolster the commercial leadership team with the appointment of several senior members across the UK and Northern Ireland to accelerate revenue growth across all digital channels.
A number of new roles, noted above, were outlined in draft form. The business required an executive search partner who could understand business needs and confidentially identify individuals capable of driving the desired outcomes.
Our client required rapid results to fit with the transformation programme; had a preference to hire leaders from outside their direct industry and needed their story articulating in an accurate and compelling manner.
Candidates were required to have experience of transformation on a large scale, have a demonstrable track record of growing digital revenue and ability to inspire confidence across the sales organisation.
Following a meeting with the Group Managing Director and senior members of the HR team, briefs were prepared by Brunswick Executive Search for each role and agreed with the client at the beginning of the project.
A robust and engaging process was created to meet challenging time pressures and ensure a thorough search was completed to deliver the right candidates. The recruitment process for each role was agreed and timelines staggered according to business priorities.
Suitable candidates within our internal networks were identified and market maps were prepared to identify external candidates on a national and regional level. Candidates were selected within specific sectors based on the criteria, market knowledge and industry insight. In addition, advertising via appropriate career boards was arranged.
The combination of direct search, advertising and existing candidate networks successfully generated a high volume of response from a broad audience of interested parties.
Following a thorough pre-screening process to determine compatibility, shortlisted candidates were then invited to an in-depth face to face interview with Andrew Hobman, the Director leading the search, to confirm suitability, cultural fit, motivation and commitment.
Comprehensive post interview reports were prepared and provided to the client to support recommendations.
Candidates first met with the Group Managing Director followed by panel assessment events including the CEO and other board members.
Successful candidates were identified from both inside and outside of our immediate network and appointments made to all intended posts.
